Throughout history you have had some black people and many white people unable to acknowledge the atrocities perpetuated against people of African descent in the United States, while they are living through them. There were some slaves and countless slave masters that believed slavery was a just institution because black people were being "taken care of" by whites, and all they had to do to remain alive was listen and work hard for Massa. During Jim Crow there were black people who thought, if only black people would just quit making trouble, i.e., making eye contact w/white people, holding their head up, using their voice, asking for employment and educational opportunities, starting their own businesses, showing self-pride, etc., then there wouldn't be so many cross burnings and lynchings; and the majority of white people concurred.

In 2016 while witnessing the murders of innocent African Americans, there are still black people who say, "It is the parents fault for allowing a twelve year old to play in the park alone with a toy gun; he should have known better than to wear a hoodie; if only she would have used a different tone; if he wasn't selling loose cigarettes, she/he would still be alive today." And white people rush to agree with even more nonsensical statements like, "He was big for his age; what about black on black crime; he was hulk-like; he played on the varsity football team; while in the store where they sell fake guns for purchase, he wasn't holding the fake-gun for purchase in a fake-gun for purchase manner; he shouldn't have run; he looked suspicious; if he couldn't breathe, he wouldn't be able to say 'I can't breathe.'"
This article is not for assimilation Negros. You just keep posting selfies, espousing black on black crime rhetoric, and listening and working hard for Massa. This is for people who recognize that the War on Crime was and still is a War on Black people to delegitimize our humanity. So white people can sleep easy and black people can come up with excuses, while we are mass incarcerated, used as slave labor, senselessly murdered by police, and tracked/trapped into a system of perpetual harassment and impeded financial growth via stop and frisk and traffic stops.
The New York Daily News reports:
"...Minnesota police stopped Castile a staggering 52 times in the last 14 years...All the citations were for petty misdemeanors or misdemeanors, and he paid a total of $6,588 in fines."
The final traffic stop for Philando Castile was for a broken tail light, which resulted in this young man being shot to death by a Minnesota Police Officer.
This call to action is for those living and recognizing in real time that something has to be done. I agree with marching, praying, voting and by all means necessary(ing), when it comes to changing the outcomes for those of African descent living in America. But my personal platform will be utilized for boycotting the businesses and institutions that appreciate our $1.3 trillion, but could care less if our Black Lives Matter; and subsequently, rallying behind black owned and operated businesses that are working hard to build and sustain a black economy independent of the oppressive system that we currently sow our hard earned money into.
I think for a long time, we have been waiting for some superstar, politician, or civil rights leader to wave the red, black and green flag to give us encouragement and direction on how we should band together and use or economic power, but to no such avail. So, here goes the list, specific to Columbus OH; however, it can be tweaked for any municipality in the nation. This is a boycott that starts now and does not end, until and unless we see changes that will be outlined in the future.
